Policies

Individual awards are decided by the chairs and if applicable czars of each committee. Awards recognize delegates for their ability to maintain diplomacy, strong public speaking skills, and the creativity of their solutions. The number of individual awards given out will vary by committee based on the total number of delegates within each committee. The Best Delegation award will only be given to one delegation per committee regardless of committee size. Awards are given out in the following format:

  1. First Place: Best Delegation

  2. Second Place: Outstanding Delegation

  3. Third Place: Honorable Delegation

  4. Fourth Place: Verbal Commendation

Individual Awards

Schools attending McMUNC will also be able to compete for a number of school awards which will be determined by the number of individual awards a school wins and a corresponding points system. Best Delegation awards will be worth 4 points, Outstanding Delegation will be worth 3 points, Honorable Delegation will be worth 2 points, and Verbal Commendation will be worth 1 point. Awards within the three Ad-Hoc Committees of the Secretary General will be worth double the amount of points for school awards (8 points for Best, 6 points for Outstanding and so on). Delegation awards will be calculated by dividing the number of points by the number of delegations brought to the conference by each school. You must bring a minimum of 5 delegates to be considered for school awards, the cutoff between large and small will be determined by the median sizes of schools at registration. The school awards are as follows:

  • Best Large Delegation

  • Outstanding Large Delegation

  • Best Small Delegation

  • Outstanding Small Delegation

  • Best Middle School Delegation

How do I get started?

Position papers are required in order for a delegation to be considered for an award, however they are not required for Crisis Committees and Ad-Hoc Committees. They should be PRINTED out and brought to your chair by the start of the conference.
